SB 180 Passes House
Updated
On: May 02, 2009 (11:16:00)
Brothers, Good news from the capitol on SB 180. Yesterday the bill passed the House with 33 in favor, 30 opposed, 1 excused. Today the bill went back to the Senate for a concurrence vote on an amended change from the House. After attempts to amend the strength of the bill down failed the concurrence passed on party lines. The next step is to have your members write and mail INDIVIDUAL letters as soon as possible, urging Governor Ritter to sign it into law. It is much better to send them individually than in bulk or via e-mail. This is very important! Fraternally, Dennis CPFF Trustee

SB 180 Passes Senate
Updated
On: Apr 20, 2009 (23:34:00)
The Colorado Professional Fire Fighters won a tremendous victory in the state house when SB 180 passed! This bill will grant the right of every fire fighter in departments over 50 members to have the right to collectively bargain. Collective bargaining allows fire fighters to develop safe and affective fire departments in cooperation with their municipalities. The bill is strictly for fire fighters! It does not allow strikes. It does not interfere with existing collective bargaining relationships. It gives fire fighters a much needed voice in their safety!
IT IS CRITICAL AND THE NUMBER ONE PRIORITY OF FIRE FIGHTERS IN COLORADO TO PASS THIS LEGISLATION! PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO EMAIL STATE REPRESENTATIVES ON THIS IMPORTANT LEGISLATION, WE ONLY HAVE A SHORT TIME TO TELL THEM HOW IMPORTANT IT IS FIRE FIGHTERS HAVE A VOICE IN THEIR SAFETY!!!
